MASSAGE

Massage is a "hands-on" treatment in which a therapist manipulates muscles and other soft tissues of the body to improve health and well-being. Varieties of massage range from gentle stroking and kneading of muscles and other soft tissues to deeper manual techniques. Massage has been practiced as a healing therapy for centuries in nearly every culture around the world. It helps relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and evoke feelings of calmness.

Our therapists are trained to the highest standard, as part of the BSc (Hons) in Complementary Healthcare Degree. In support of their continuing professional development they have specialised in particular massage treatment, e.g. Massage for the disabled, pregnancy massage, Indian Head massage, chronic pain massage. All treatments are tailored to each client's individual physical and emotional needs.

REFLEXOLOGY

Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Reflexology is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers on these reflex areas. Reflexology includes, but is not limited to: relieve stress and tension, improve bloody supply in order to promote the unblocking of nerve impulses and to help nature achieve homeostasis.

Our therapists are trained to the highest standard, as part of the BSc (Hons) in Complementary Healthcare Degree. In support of their continuing professional development they have specialised in particular reflexology treatment e.g. Lymphatic Drainage Reflexology for Breast Cancer patients, Fertility and Pregnancy Reflexology, Chronic Pain Reflexology, Relaxation Reflexology. All treatments are tailored to each client's individual physical and emotional needs.

AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy is usually incorporated into a massage or reflexology treatment. It involves the use of essential and base oils for their therapeutic properties. Essential oils are extractions from natural sources, such as flowers, fruits, plants and woods.

All our therapists are Clinical Aromatherapists trained as part of the Bsc (Hons) Degree in Complementary Healthcare. Therefore they are able to create an aromatherapy blend that is relevant to each client's clinical condition.

Both Physical and Psychological conditions can be relieved with the use of aromatherapy. Such conditions include, migraines, back pain, muscle pain, arthritis, insomnia and psoriasis.

In addition to the treatment provided our therapists are able to make personalised blends for clients to take away and use at home. This enables a longer lasting therapeutic effect in between massage or reflexology treatments.
